Profile

Dr Samia Faisal O. Aboushoushah

Assistant Professor

Medical Physicist, Physics Department

Faculty of Science, King Abdulaziz University

Research Interest:

I am interested in developing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) methods in medical applications.

This includes the development of Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) techniques to investigate the human brain. Also the synthesis of Nano-materials compatible in the MRI environment and investigating their medical applications as contrast agents in MRI and drug delivery systems.

Research Interests

My research involves the development of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques and their application in the biomedical sciences. This includes the development of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) techniques to investigate the human brain. The Combination of fMRI with other imaging modalities such as electroencephalography (EEG) to provide more precise spatial and temporal localisation of brain activity. Developing Nano-materials compatible in the MRI environment and investigating their medical applications as contrast agents in MRI and drug delivery systems.

Scientific interests

I teach general physics as well as subjects in medical physics in my field such as Medical Imaging, Computer modelling, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
